In Friday's non-league game, the Tompkins Falcons (Katy, TX) football team edged the host Cypress Ranch Mustangs (Houston, TX), by a tally of 21-20.

In their next game, the Falcons face the Bridgeland Bears (Cypress, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 6. Tompkins will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Bears enter the game with a 1-0 record after their 52-14 non-league win over Dawson (Pearland, TX).

The Mustangs (0-1) will now prepare for their game against New Caney (New Caney, TX). The Eagles enter the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, New Caney was edged by Barbers Hill (Mt. Belvieu, TX), 54-8, in a non-league game.
