The Holmdel Hornets football squad scored 38 points and limited the visiting Long Branch Green Wave to 32 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Friday.

The Hornets now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ocean Township for a non-league test on Friday, September 6. Holmdel will meet a Spartans squad coming off a 10-6 league win over Red Bank Regional (Little Silver, NJ). The Spartans record now stands at 1-0.

With the defeat, Long Branch drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Green wave host Jackson Memorial (Jackson Township, NJ) to meet the Jaguars in a non-league test on Friday, September 6. The Jaguars come into the test with a record of 1-0. Jackson Memorial won 17-7 in their recent non-league test against North Brunswick (North Brunswick, NJ)
