Virginia High School Football - Martinsville thwarted by Patrick County
August 30, 2024: Stuart, VA 24171 Patrick County Cougars (Stuart, VA) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Martinsville Bulldogs (Martinsville, VA), 27-6 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Patrick County improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Cougars travel to Bassett (Bassett, VA) to play the Bengals in a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. The Bengals go into the battle with a record of 0-1. Bassett lost 41-14 in their recent non-league battle against Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA)
The Bulldogs now have a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Gretna for a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. Martinsville will play a Hawks team coming off a 55-18 non-league loss to Jefferson Forest (Forest, VA). The Hawks record now stands at 0-1.
