August 30, 2024: Sterling, IL 61081 The Metamora Redbirds football squad scored 28 points and limited the host Sterling Golden Warriors to 9 in the Redbirds non-league triumph on Friday.
The Redbirds now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host LaSalle-Peru for a non-league test on Friday, September 6. Metamora will meet a Cavaliers squad coming off a 18-16 non-league win over East Moline United (East Moline, IL). The Cavaliers record now stands at 1-0.
With the defeat, Sterling drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Golden warriors host Niles Notre Dame (Niles, IL) to meet the Dons in a non-league test on Friday, September 6.
