The Melissa Cardinals (Melissa, TX) volleyball held off the host Trinity Trojans (Euless, TX), 2-1 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Cardinals now possess a 20-5 record. They play next when they travel to Wylie East for a non-league bout on Saturday, August 31. Melissa will clash with a Raiders team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Non Varsity Opponent (, ). The Raiders record now stands at 16-4.

With the loss, Trinity drops to 12-12 on the campaign. The Trojans host Southlake Carroll (Southlake, TX) to clash with the Dragons in a 6A Region I District 4 bout on Tuesday, September 3.
