August 30, 2025: DeWitt, IA 52742 Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) boosters left the game thrilled Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host Central DeWitt (DeWitt, IA), 2-0 in a non-league test.
With the win, Mt. Vernon improves its record to 5-2 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Solon (Solon, IA) to meet the Spartans in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, September 9. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 0-0.
The (4-1) will now prepare for their game against Pleasant Valley (Pleasant Valley, IA). The Spartans go into the non-league game with a 6-2 record. In their last game, Pleasant Valley went down by Waukee (Waukee, IA), 2-1, in a non-league game.
