East Central Hornets (San Antonio, TX) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they saw their volleyball team overcome the host Cigarroa Toros (Laredo, TX), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets (16-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Jay (San Antonio, TX). The Mustangs come into the non-league challenge with a 16-7 record. In their last challenge, Jay was beaten by Southwest Legacy (Von Ormy, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Toros meet the Juarez-Lincoln Huskies (La Joya, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 test, on Tuesday, September 2. Cigarroa will attempt to advance on its 9-6 season record. The Huskies go into the test with a 1-8 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Lanier (San Antonio, TX).
