Covington Trojans (Covington, IN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they observed their volleyball team hold off the host Pioneer Panthers (Royal Center, IN), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans (4-5) will now prepare for their challenge against North Putnam (Roachdale, IN). The Cougars enter the non-league challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last challenge, North Putnam was tipped by Owen Valley (Spencer, IN), 3-1, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Logansport for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 2. Pioneer will face a Berries squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Tipton (Tipton, IN). The Berries record now stands at 4-6.
