In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Independence Mustangs volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Mason City Mohawks.

The Mustangs (2-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Vinton-Shellsburg (Vinton, IA). The Vikings come into the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Vinton-Shellsburg went down by Benton (Van Horne, IA), 3-0, in a non-league test.
