The El Modena Vanguards football team (Orange, CA), was knocked off 31-14 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the host Cypress Centurions (Cypress, CA)

The Centurions (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Lawndale (Lawndale, CA). The Cardinals come into the non-league challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Lawndale knocked off San Pedro (San Pedro, CA), 14-13, in a non-league challenge.

The Vanguards now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Segerstrom for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 8. El Modena will meet a Jaguars team coming off a 34-14 non-league win over California (Whittier, CA). The Jaguars record now stands at 3-0.
