In Thursday's non-league game, the Hanover Park Hornets (East Hanover, NJ) football team knocked off the visiting Millburn Millers (Millburn, NJ), by a final score of 36-8.

The Hornets (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Madison (Madison, NJ). The Dodgers come into the Super - American Gold game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Madison was dropped by Verona (Verona, NJ), 34-31, in a league game.

The Millers now hold a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Morristown for a non-league game on Friday, September 8. Millburn will battle a Colonials team coming off a 21-14 non-league win over Chatham (Chatham, NJ). The Colonials record now stands at 2-0.
