In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Owyhee Braves volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Mineral County Serpents.

The Braves (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Carlin (Carlin, NV). The Railroaders come into the 1A Eastern challenge with a 0-2 record. In their last challenge, Carlin lost by Lincoln County (Panaca, NV), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Serpents play the Pyramid Lake Lakers (Nixon, NV) in a 1A Western challenge, on Tuesday, September 10. Mineral County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-8 season record.
