Match Summary
In a rematch from last years 5 set CCS nail-biter, Santa Cruz came out on top in the sequel, which was unfortunately marred by injury. After a coin-toss opening set won by the Regents, in the second, Notre Dame was leading 20-17 when senior OH Dylan Crooks went down with an ankle injury. Crooks had already racked up 11 kills at the time. NDSJ closed out the set to take a 2-0 lead, but Crooks' presence was missed the rest of the way. Despite 28 kills from NDSJ's Quinlan Jones, the Cardinals completed a reverse sweep to repeat their 5 set win in 2023. Junior OH Natalie Monroe lead the Santa Cruz attack and scrappy defense propelled the Cardinals to victory down the stretch.
