Georgia High School Softball - Fitzgerald bounces Echols County
August 7, 2025: Statenville, GA 31648 The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane softball team scored 12 runs and held the host Echols County Wildcats to 0 in the Purple Hurricane non-league win on Thursday.
The Purple Hurricane now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Crisp County for a non-league battle on Monday, August 11. Fitzgerald will confront a Cougars team coming off a 13-5 non-league win over Schley County (Ellaville, GA). The Cougars record now stands at 1-0.
With the loss, Echols County moves to 0-1 on the season. The Wildcats host Clinch County (Homerville, GA) to confront the Panthers in a 1A D-II Region 2 battle on Tuesday, August 12. The Panthers come into the battle with a record of 1-0. Clinch County won 14-3 in their recent non-league battle against Telfair County (McRae, GA)
