The Downey Knights (Modesto, CA) football routed the visiting Merced Bears (Merced, CA), 42-6 in Friday's non-league bout.

Next up, the Knights battle the Hughson Huskies (Hughson, CA) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 8. Downey will attempt to better on its 3-0 season record. The Huskies come into the game with a 3-0 record after their 50-20 non-league win over Pitman (Turlock, CA).

The Bears now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Golden Valley for a Central California - CCC game on Friday, September 15.
