The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Mooreville Troopers (Mooreville, MS) and the host East Union Urchins (Blue Springs, MS), observed Mooreville's football squad thwart East Union by a count of 39-14.

The Troopers now own a 2-0 record. They play next when they travel to South Pontotoc for a non-league contest on Friday, September 8. Mooreville will play a Cougars squad coming off a 42-10 league loss to Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 0-2.

Coming up next, the Urchins play the Bruce Trojans (Bruce, MS) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 8. East Union will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Trojans go into the contest with a 1-1 record after their 27-12 non-league loss to Vardaman (Vardaman, MS).
