The Franklin Lions (Franklin, TX) football routed the visiting Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX), 70-6 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Lions face the Diboll Lumberjacks (Diboll, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 8. Franklin will attempt to advance on its 2-0 season record. The Lumberjacks enter the bout with a 1-1 record after their 28-14 non-league win over Kirbyville (Kirbyville, TX).
