In Friday's league game, the Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) football team knocked off the visiting Hoover Huskies (Clendenin, WV), by a final score of 35-22.

The Generals (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Chapmanville Regional (Chapmanville, WV). The Tigers come into the Cardinal game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Chapmanville Regional toppled Poca (Poca, WV), 24-14, in a league game.

The Huskies now hold a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Nitro for a Cardinal game on Friday, September 8. Hoover will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 84-6 league win over St. Albans (St. Albans, WV). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-0.
