The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Union Bears (Appalachia, VA) and the visiting Richlands Blue Tornado (Richlands, VA), observed Union's football squad bounce Richlands by a count of 41-0.

The Bears now own a 2-0 record. They play next when they host Science Hill for a non-league contest on Friday, September 8. Union will play a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 25-21 league loss to Jefferson County (Dandridge, TN). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 1-2.

Coming up next, the Blue Tornado play the Tazewell Bulldogs (Tazewell, VA) in a Southwest contest, on Friday, September 8. Richlands will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 0-1 record after their 35-7 non-league loss to Riverheads (Staunton, VA).
