In Friday's non-league game, the Salado Eagles (Salado, TX) football team got by the visiting Rudder Rangers (Bryan, TX), by a score of 48-47.

The Eagles (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Malakoff (Malakoff, TX). The Tigers come into the non-league game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Malakoff nipped Grandview (Grandview, TX), 51-21, in a non-league game.

The Rangers now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Elgin for a non-league game on Friday, September 8. Rudder will meet a Wildcats team coming off a 47-0 non-league win over Akins (Austin, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-1.
