Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Cross County Cougars (Stromsburg, NE) and the visiting Central City Bison (Central City, NE), observed Cross County's volleyball team top Central City by a count of 3-0.

The Cougars (3-2) will now prepare for their battle against McCool Junction (McCool Junction, NE). The Mustangs go into the D1 District 4 battle with a 0-7 record. In their last battle, McCool Junction dropped by Harvard (Harvard, NE), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Bison now own a 3-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lakeview for a non-league battle on Saturday, September 13. Central City will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Skutt Catholic (Omaha, NE). The Vikings record now stands at 6-2.
