Florida High School Volleyball - Varsity Opponent tips Pensacola Area Homeschool
September 11, 2025: Pensacola, FL 32533 Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Varsity Opponent (, ) and the host Pensacola Area Homeschool Phoenix (Pensacola, FL), observed Varsity Opponent's volleyball team nudge Pensacola Area Homeschool by a score of 2-1.
With the win, Varsity Opponent improves its record to 104-241 on the season. The travel to Heartland (Belton, MO) to encounter the Mustangs in a non-league battle on Thursday, September 11. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 4-5.
Next, the Phoenix meet the L.E.A.D. Academy Lions (Pace, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 19. Pensacola Area Homeschool will attempt to upgrade on its 1-7 season record.
Match Summary
We hosted the Lady Lions in our second meeting of the season. The result was very similar to the first - our Phoenix girls won 1 set in each match. But this time we came within 2 points of winning the Varsity match and 2 points of winning a second set in the JV match! The Varsity match was played first. In it, our girls played some of their best volleyball of the season, including serving at 95%. They came, oh, so close to winning out! After the Varsity match, all of our younger players received significant court time in the JV match, and the match remained competitive. In the end, as we struggled with our serve receive, our SR percentages dipping downward significantly from last Tuesday's match, our scrappy squads were unable to prevail. Improvement is apparent in our team, though, and their progressing teamwork showed. I'm pleased with how they responded with hustle and energy throughout most of the match.
