The Escalon Cougars football squad scored 9 points and limited the visiting El Capitan Gauchos to 8 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Cougars now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Sonora for a test on Thursday, September 19. Escalon will meet a Wildcats squad coming off a 27-0 non-league loss to Central Catholic (Modesto, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-2.

With the defeat, El Capitan drops to 2-2 on the campaign. The Gauchos travel to Livermore (Livermore, CA) to meet the Cowboys in a non-league test on Thursday, September 19. The Cowboys come into the test with a record of 1-0. Livermore won 7-0 in their recent non-league test against Castro Valley (Castro Valley, CA)
