Anselmo-Merna Coyotes (Merna, NE) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team nip the visiting Loomis Wolves (Loomis, NE), 48-46 in a non-league match.

The Coyotes (3-0) will now prepare for their match against Central Valley (Greeley, NE). The Cougars come into the D2 District 6 (8 Man) match with a 3-0 record. In their last match, Central Valley tipped Stanton (Stanton, NE), 36-6, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Wolves confront the Maywood/Hayes Center Wolves (Maywood, NE) in a D2 District 8 (8 Man) battle, on Friday, September 19. Loomis will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Wolves go into the battle with a 0-3 record after their 36-28 non-league loss to Maxwell (Maxwell, NE).
