Connecticut High School Football - Taft School thwarted by Cheshire Academy
September 12, 2025: Cheshire, CT 06410 Cheshire Academy Cats (Cheshire, CT) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Taft School Big Red (Watertown, CT), 28-0 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Cheshire Academy improves its record to 1-0 on the season. The Cats travel to Phillips Exeter Academy (Exeter, NH) to play the Lions in a Northeast Prep battle on Saturday, September 20. The Lions go into the battle with a record of 1-0. Phillips Exeter Academy won 38-36 in their recent non-league test against Choate Rosemary Hall School (Wallingford, CT)
With the defeat, Taft School drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Big red host Loomis Chaffee School (Windsor, CT) to meet the Pelicans in a Founders test on Saturday, September 20. The Pelicans go into the challenge with a record of 0-1. Loomis Chaffee School lost 23-20 in their recent non-league challenge against Deerfield Academy (Deerfield, MA)
