New Mexico High School Football - Cobre can't hold off Silver
September 12, 2025: Silver City, NM 88061 Silver Fighting Colts (Silver City, NM) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the visiting Cobre Indians (Bayard, NM), 2-0 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Silver upgrades its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Fighting Colts host Valencia (Los Lunas, NM) to confront the Jaguars in a 4A District 2 match on Friday, September 19. The Jaguars come into the match with a record of 2-2. Valencia won 51-0 in their recent non-league match against Cuba (Cuba, NM)
Coming up next, the Indians confront the Hatch Valley Bears (Hatch, NM) in a 3A District 3 match, on Friday, September 26. Cobre will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record.
