Texas High School Football - Union Grove defeats Cushing

September 12, 2025: Gladewater, TX 75647

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Union Grove Lions (Gladewater, TX) and the visiting Cushing Bearkats (Cushing, TX), saw Union Grove's football team gain a win over Cushing by a final score of 20-0.

With the win, Union Grove advances its record to 3-0 on the season. The Lions travel to Waskom (Waskom, TX) to play the Wildcats in a 2A-1 Region III District 10 battle on Thursday, September 18. The Wildcats go into the battle with a record of 2-1. Waskom won 21-19 in their recent non-league battle against Shelbyville (Shelbyville, TX)

The Bearkats now own a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Evadale for a non-league battle on Friday, September 19. Cushing will play a Rebels team coming off a 55-21 non-league win over Frassati Catholic (Spring, TX). The Rebels record now stands at 1-1.
