Iowa High School Football - English Valleys can't hold off Winfield-Mt. Union
September 12, 2025: North English, IA 52316 Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves (Winfield, IA) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the host English Valleys Bears (North English, IA), 28-26 in a league match.
The Wolves (1-2) will now prepare for their match against Wayne (Corydon, IA). The Falcons come into the non-league match with a 2-1 record. In their last match, Wayne tipped Moravia (Moravia, IA), 30-20, in a league match.
Coming up next, the Bears confront the Belle Plaine Plainsmen (Belle Plaine, IA) in a 8-Man District 5 (8 Man) match, on Friday, September 19. English Valleys will attempt to improve on its 2-1 season record. The Plainsmen go into the battle with a 0-2 record after their 74-6 league loss to Iowa Valley (Marengo, IA).
