The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Glenelg Gladiators (Glenelg, MD) and the visiting River Hill Hawks (Clarksville, MD), witnessed Glenelg's football squad knock off River Hill by a tally of 16-7.

The Gladiators (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Wilde Lake (Columbia, MD). The Wildecats enter the Class 2A West contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Wilde Lake was toppled by Atholton (Columbia, MD), 34-26, in a non-league contest.

The Hawks now own a 0-2 record. They play next when they host Guilford Park for a Class 3A South bout on Friday, September 19. River Hill will encounter a Panther team coming off a 56-49 league loss to Hammond (Columbia, MD). The Panther record now stands at 1-1.
