The Pymatuning Valley Lakers felled the visiting Mathews Mustangs football team by a score of 65-35 in Friday's league challenge.

Next, the Lakers meet the St. John Fighting Herald (Ashtabula, OH) in a Northeastern test, on Friday, September 19. Pymatuning Valley will attempt to move on its 3-1 season record. The Fighting Herald come into the test with a 1-3 record after their 28-21 non-league loss to Crestline (Crestline, OH).

With the defeat, Mathews falls to 1-3 on the year. The Mustangs host Harding (Fairport Harbor, OH) to face the Skippers in a Northeastern game on Friday, September 19. The Skippers enter the game with a record of 3-0. Harding won 47-6 in their recent non-league outing against Buckeye Central (New Washington, OH)
