The Melrose Red Raiders football team (Melrose, MA), was topped 36-12 in Friday's non-league bout with the host Reading Memorial Rockets (Reading, MA)

With the win, Reading Memorial advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Rockets travel to Danvers (Danvers, MA) to confront the Falcons in a non-league contest on Friday, September 19. The Falcons enter the contest with a record of 2-0. Danvers won 21-14 in their recent non-league contest against Salem (Salem, MA)

Coming up next, the Red Raiders confront the Swampscott Big Blue (Swampscott, MA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 26. Melrose will attempt to advance on its 1-1 season record.
