In Friday's league match, the host Rockmart Yellowjackets football squad scored a good 26-12 victory over the Union County Panthers.

The Yellowjackets (2-2) will now prepare for their match against Coahulla Creek (Dalton, GA). The Colts enter the AA Region 7 match with a 0-4 record. In their last match, Coahulla Creek was beaten by Sonoraville (Calhoun, GA), 28-7, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Panthers confront the North Murray Mountaineers (Chatsworth, GA) in a AA Region 7 match, on Friday, September 20. Union County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Mountaineers enter the match with a 3-1 record after their 40-14 league win over Murray County (Chatsworth, GA).
