Illinois High School Soccer - North Mac toppled by Athens/Greenview/Illini Central
September 13, 2025: Athens, IL 62613 Athens/Greenview/Illini Central Warriors (Athens, IL) backers exited the stadium pleased Saturday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL), 10-1 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Athens/Greenview/Illini Central advances its record to 4-6 on the campaign. The Warriors host St. Teresa (Decatur, IL) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league test on Tuesday, September 16. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 2-5. St. Teresa lost 3-2 in their recent non-league test against Cornerstone Christian (Bloomington, IL)
Next up, the Panthers play the Staunton Bulldogs (Staunton, IL) in a South Central outing, on Tuesday, September 16. North Mac will attempt to improve on its 1-9 season record. The Bulldogs go into the game with a 5-4 record after their 4-1 league loss to Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL).
