Horizon Prep Lions (Rancho Santa Fe, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Calipatria Hornets (Calipatria, CA), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions (10-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Escondido Charter (Escondido, CA). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 9-5 record. In their last challenge, Escondido Charter went down by El Camino (Oceanside, CA), 3-1, in a non-league test.

The Hornets now sport a 6-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Valley Center for a non-league test on Saturday, September 13. Calipatria will face a Jaguars squad coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Calvin Christian (Escondido, CA). The Jaguars record now stands at 7-6.
