Utah High School Volleyball - Wasatch over Paradigm
September 14, 2022: South Jordan, UT 84095 The Wasatch Wasps (Heber City, UT) volleyball overcame the host Paradigm Patriots (South Jordan, UT), 3-1 in Wednesday's league outing.
With the win, Wasatch upgrades its record to 3-0 on the year. The Wasps travel to Spanish Fork (Spanish Fork, UT) to face the Dons in a non-league outing on Friday, September 23. The Dons go into the outing with a record of 0-0.
The Patriots now own a 0-1 record.
Match Summary
In a very loud and boisterous gym, the Varsity team pulled out an exciting 4-game win with scores of 25-20, 25-17, 13-25 and 28-26. The first set was a battle going back and forth until the Wasps pulled ahead with a serving run by Cole Hoffman. The Wasps were in control of the second set from the start and cruised to an easy win. In the 3rd set, it was another story and the Patriots served strong beating the Wasps handily 25-13. The 4th set was an epic and loud battle. Both teams fought hard with multiple lead changes in the set, but the Wasps were able to outlast the Patriots getting the win with a score of 28-26!
Junior Easton Brown led the team with 9 kills, 2 aces and one block. Juniors Braxton Raven and Winston Smith also contributed 4 kills each. Freshman Jacob Higginson also scored 2 aces, and Seniors Austin Caldwell and Cole Hoffman were the block leaders with 3 and 2 respectively.
