In Thursday's non-league match, the host Myers Park Mustangs football squad scored a good 24-7 victory over the Marvin Ridge Mavericks.

In their next game, the Mustangs clash with the Palisades Pumas (Charlotte, NC) in a 4A South Meck match, on Friday, September 22. Myers Park will attempt to move on its 2-3 season record. The Pumas enter the match with a 2-3 record after their 38-6 league win over Berry (Charlotte, NC).
