September 14, 2023: Murphy, NC 28906 The Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) football edged the host Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC), 21-14 in Thursday's non-league bout.
In their next game, the Maroon Devils face the Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, September 21. Swain County will attempt to advance on its 5-0 season record. The Braves enter the bout with a 4-1 record after their 62-22 non-league win over Hayesville (Hayesville, NC).
The Bulldogs (1-4) will now prepare for their bout against Andrews (Andrews, NC). The Wildcats enter the non-league bout with a 1-4 record. In their last bout, Andrews was nudged by Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC), 36-0, in a non-league bout.
