The Minerva Lions football squad scored 28 points and limited the host Sandy Valley Cardinals to 8 in the Lions non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Lions now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Salem for a non-league test on Saturday, October 5.

With the defeat, Sandy Valley drops to 0-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Rootstown (Rootstown, OH) to meet the Rovers in a non-league test on Saturday, September 21. The Rovers come into the test with a record of 0-2.
