West Virginia High School Soccer - George Washington nudges Wheeling Park
September 14, 2024: Wheeling, WV 26003 Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the George Washington Patriots (Charleston, WV) and the host Wheeling Park Patriots (Wheeling, WV), saw George Washington's soccer squad hold off Wheeling Park by a count of 1-0.
The Patriots (6-0) will now prepare for their battle against Greenbrier East (Lewisburg, WV). The Spartans enter the non-league battle with a 3-2 record. In their last battle, Greenbrier East tipped Huntington (Huntington, WV), 3-1, in a non-league battle.
Next up, the Patriots confront the Bridgeport Indians (Bridgeport, WV) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, September 21. Wheeling Park will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Indians enter the battle with a 2-0 record after their 1-0 non-league win over Woodrow Wilson (Beckley, WV).
