September 15, 2023: Riner, VA 24149 In Friday's non-league match, the host Auburn Eagles football squad scored a good 31-16 victory over the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs.
In their next game, the Eagles clash with the Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA) in a Mountain Empire match, on Friday, September 22. Auburn will attempt to move on its 2-1 season record. The Maroon Tide enter the match with a 1-3 record after their 56-19 non-league loss to Radford (Radford, VA).
The Mustangs (1-3) will now prepare for their match against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA). The Pioneers enter the non-league match with a 2-1 record. In their last match, Fort Chiswell was toppled by Tazewell (Tazewell, VA), 44-34, in a non-league match.
