The St. Paul Swordsmen football team (Santa Fe Springs, CA), was beaten 17-7 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Downey Vikings (Downey, CA)

The Vikings (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Norwalk (Norwalk, CA). The Lancers come into the Gateway challenge with a 2-2 record.

The Swordsmen now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Servite for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 22. St. Paul will meet a Friars team coming off a 28-24 non-league win over Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos, CA). The Friars record now stands at 3-1.
