September 15, 2023: Coal City, WV 25823 Independence Patriots (Coal City, WV) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team rout the visiting Shady Spring Tigers (Shady Spring, WV), 63-12 in a league test.
With the triumph, Independence improves its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Mingo Central (Matewan, WV) to confront the Miners in a non-league test on Friday, September 22. The Miners come into the test with a record of 4-0. Mingo Central won 40-0 in their recent non-league test against Man (Man, WV)
With the loss, Shady Spring drops to 2-2 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to PikeView (Princeton, WV) to confront the Panthers in a Coalfield AA test on Friday, September 22. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 0-4. PikeView lost 49-6 in their recent league test against WestSide (Clear Fork, WV)
