September 15, 2023: Edmonton, KY 42129 The Metcalfe County Hornets football team (Edmonton, KY), was beaten 35-21 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY)
The Cardinals (5-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Taylor County (Campbellsville, KY). The Cardinals come into the 4A District 7 challenge with a 3-2 record. In their last challenge, Taylor County was beaten by Boyle County (Danville, KY), 49-3, in a league challenge.
The Hornets now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Casey County for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 22. Metcalfe County will meet a Rebels team coming off a 34-6 non-league win over McCreary Central (Stearns, KY). The Rebels record now stands at 3-2.
