Kentucky High School Football - Russell thwarted by Boyd County
September 15, 2025: Russell, KY 41169 Boyd County Lions (Ashland, KY) fans went home in high spirits Monday as they observed their football squad thwart the host Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY), 47-21 in a non-league match.
The Lions (3-0) will now prepare for their match against Johnson Central (Paintsville, KY). The Golden Eagles come into the non-league match with a 0-0 record.
Coming up next, the Red Devils meet the Blazer Tomcats (Ashland, KY) in a non-league match, on Monday, September 22. Russell will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record.
