The Shelby Whippets volleyball squad (Shelby, OH), dropped 3-1 in Monday's non-league battle with the visiting Smithville Smithies (Smithville, OH)

With the win, Smithville improves its record to 8-4 on the season. The Smithies travel to Waynedale (Apple Creek, OH) to encounter the Golden Bears in a Wayne County battle on Tuesday, September 16. The Golden Bears go into the battle with a record of 9-3. Waynedale won 3-2 in their recent league battle against Chippewa (Doylestown, OH)

Next, the Whippets meet the Galion Tigers (Galion, OH) in a Mid-Ohio Athletic contest, on Tuesday, September 16. Shelby will attempt to upgrade on its 5-5 season record. The Tigers enter the contest with a 1-11 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Port Clinton (Port Clinton, OH).
