In Friday's non-league game, the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) football team knocked off the host Central Cabarrus Vikings (Concord, NC), by a final score of 46-29.

The Patriots (3-2) will now prepare for their game against Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Panthers come into the 3A/4A West Conference 52 game with a 1-4 record. In their last game, Hibriten was dropped by South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 35-34, in a league game.

The Vikings now hold a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Concord for a 3A West Conference 48 game on Friday, September 23. Central Cabarrus will battle a Spiders team coming off a 35-14 league win over East Rowan (Salisbury, NC). The Spiders record now stands at 1-3.
