September 16, 2022: Weirton, WV 26062 In Friday's non-league match, the host Weir Red Riders football squad scored a good 35-20 victory over the Martins Ferry Purple Riders.
In their next game, the Red Riders clash with the Union Local Jets (Belmont, OH) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 23. Weir will attempt to move on its 3-1 season record. The Jets enter the match with a 5-0 record after their 49-20 non-league win over Shenandoah (Sarahsville, OH).
The Purple Riders (2-3) will now prepare for their match against Cambridge (Cambridge, OH). The Bobcats enter the Ohio Valley AAAA match with a 3-2 record. In their last match, Cambridge dropped by Bellaire (Bellaire, OH), 25-14, in a non-league match.
