The Rockingham County Cougars football team (Wentworth, NC), was beaten 33-25 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Southern Guilford Storm (Greensboro, NC)

The Storm (2-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Northeast Guilford (McLeansville, NC). The Rams come into the 3A West Conference 46 challenge with a 3-1 record. In their last challenge, Northeast Guilford was beaten by Eastern Guilford (Gibsonville, NC), 38-6, in a league challenge.

The Cougars now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Ben L. Smith for a 3A West Conference 46 challenge on Friday, September 23. Rockingham County will meet a Golden Eagles team coming off a 20-13 league win over Atkins (Winston-Salem, NC). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 1-3.
