The Rye Cove Eagles (Clinchport, VA) football edged the visiting Thomas Walker Pioneers (Ewing, VA), 30-28 in Friday's league bout.

In their next game, the Eagles face the Castlewood Blue Devils (Castlewood, VA) in a Cumberland bout, on Friday, September 23. Rye Cove will attempt to move on its 4-0 season record. The Blue Devils enter the bout with a 1-3 record after their 60-6 non-league loss to Grundy (Grundy, VA).

The Pioneers (1-3) will now prepare for their bout against Claiborne (New Tazewell, TN). The Bulldogs enter the non-league bout with a 1-3 record.
