New York High School Football - Central knocked off by Iona Prep

Iona Prep Gaels (New Rochelle, NY) fans were in high spirits Saturday as they observed their football squad thwart the visiting Central Golden Eagles (Springfield, MA), 31-14 in a non-league battle.

The Gaels now possess a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to St. Anthony's for a Catholic AAA battle on Friday, September 22. Iona Prep will play a Friars squad coming off a 42-34 non-league win over St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, NJ). The Friars record now stands at 2-1.

Coming up next, the Golden Eagles play the Xaverian Brothers Hawks (Westwood, MA) in a non-league battle, on Friday, September 22. Central will attempt to advance on its 1-1 season record. The Hawks go into the battle with a 2-0 record after their 41-0 non-league win over Bridgewater-Raynham (Bridgewater, MA).
